If you are looking for a therapist who will provide you with the skills, resources, and support you need to cope with the daily stressors of life whether minor or significant, then you found the right therapist for you. My areas of interest are at-risk economically disadvantaged women. Unfortunately economically disadvantaged individuals face some of the toughest battles with little to no access to mental health resources to help them cope with these issues. With 10 years of experience working with at-risk populations such as persons experiencing homelessness and individuals with drug addiction I am confident I can help you with your stressors. I firmly believe that your mental health is the foundation for your overall well being. I received my MA in clinical mental health counseling from Andrews University. I have worked at multiple behavioral health and social service settings, agencies as well as private practice. “Life doesn’t make any sense without interdependence.
We need each other, and the sooner we learn that, the better for us all.” — Erik Erikson

Phoenix is a 9-year-old male Lab mix who has been part of Mrs. Powell’s family since he was just 5 weeks old. Known for his gentle “Eeyore” personality, Phoenix brings both love and laughter to everyone he meets. His trademark? Loud snores and the occasional nap with all four paws in the air. While he prefers a laid-back lifestyle, Phoenix has an incredible instinct for knowing when someone needs a little extra comfort. When he senses a client is feeling anxious or sad, he’ll move in for gentle pets and quiet companionship.
Anarchy is an 8-year-old long-haired German Shepherd with a heart as soft as his fur. He’s most often found close to Phoenix—his emotional support animal in dog form—but don’t be fooled by his shy nature and tucked tail. If he spots you giving attention to another dog, he’ll make sure to get in on the love. Anarchy is remarkably attuned to human emotions and often becomes the client favorite, offering silent support, gentle nudges, and soulful eyes that seem to say, “I understand.”
Together, Phoenix and Anarchy create a safe, comforting space where clients can relax, feel understood, and maybe even share a smile.
